LA-based painter Brian Viveros brings his gritty, sexy aesthetic to art toys with the Dirtyland vinyl figure from 3DRetro. Drawn from his The Dirtyland collection, Bullheaded features a striking female character that’s part bullfighter, part soldier and all siren.
An edition of 200, the Dirtyland vinyl art toy (9.75″) for $200
The paint job on Bullheaded is incredibly clean, with those gritty brushstroke details on her face and jacket that pop way more in person than in the listing photos. The vinyl has a nice heft to it too, so she feels solid on the shelf rather than cheap or hollow.
The bristle texture on her hair and the worn leather look on the jacket give it a gritty feel straight out of a Viveros canvas. It's heavier and more solid than I expected for a vinyl bust, and Bullheaded's scowl translates perfectly in three dimensions.
The paint job on this piece is unreal—every brushstroke on her face and the bull head pops like a gallery canvas. Sits perfectly on my shelf, solid vinyl weight that feels premium for the price.
